The DairyClara Belle, Rosie and Elizabeth make up our little dairy herd. Each girl has her own wonderful personality and brings something interesting to our Farm.
Clara Bell is our boss cow. she may be the smallest of the group, but they all know she is in charge. Clara is actually part miniature Jersey and part Guernsey. and her last heifer (shorty) looks like she has inherited the miniature gene from her mother! we are excited to see her next calf due in Feb 2017 Elizabeth is probably our most personable girl. She is one of the most curious cows I have ever met. she loves to be the center of attention and wants all the cuddles and scratching she can get. Rosie is our shy girl. she is a little more standoffish but she loves treats and attention just like the others. she is one of the most beautiful Jerseys I have ever seen and gives us about 3 gallons a day. and is a joy to have in our herd. Because so much is destroyed during the pasteurization process, I choose to sell our milk "raw". This means that my milk and dairy products must be sold from the farm. (if you would like to pasteurize the milk at home it is a simple process of heating the milk to 165° F for 15 sec) I do my absolute best to follow organic principles, and make sure the milk is clean, antibiotic free, grass fed, and fresh. If you have any questions about our products, process, Mary Beth, or would like to tour the farm please feel free to contact me! |
